Was out today with a few friends to hike Nightmare Gulch in Red Rock Canyon State park, about 40 miles north of Mojave. It was a great day to be outside in the sun! We saw no other hikers, which is not surprising since this hike isn't in any guidebooks.

I can only imagine that it was named Nightmare Gulch because it is stark and unearthly...
